From Humble Beginnings.
Schaerer Contracting is the result of Successful projects and long lasting relationships beginning with Warner “Pap” Schaerer in 1927. Warner Schaerer was the first generation contractor of that era working in Plastering. “Emil Tucker Schaerer I” joined the company in 1935, at 21 years of age, and continued to grow the business while delivering the family tradition of Skilled Quality workmanship and successful relationships throughout the Southeast.
In 1968 Schaerer Contracting incorporated lead by third Generation “E. T. Bud Schaerer II”, an Army Lieutenant in 1st Armored Division Strategic Combat Command A. Using his Military leadership skills, he continued to grow the business into the General Contracting and enjoyed many successful large scale projects in his tenure.
In 1985 Burton Tucker Schaerer, a fourth Generation Schaerer, graduated from University Of Tennessee Chattanooga joining the Schaerer team and continuing in the family tradition of Relationship Building and Excellence in Construction.
Schaerer Contracting is now the Contractor of choice for many large scale clients such as Shaw, Rite Aid, CVS, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and many more.

Burt Schaerer currently provides overall company management and construction oversight for the firm’s projects. He has more than 30 years’ experience in all aspects of the construction industry.

Over 25 Years of experience. Provides overall coordination and Supervision of field installations. Participates in developing and finalizing the Master Construction Schedule and provides Scheduled Updates. Manages on site safety and develops weekly short term schedule activity updates while providing field construction coordination, supervision and inspection of work in place. Coordinates manpower requirements while ensuring Quality Control of all Construction activities on a continuous daily basis. Ensures that plans and specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
